You may remember me posting the Smartpass Guide to Macbeth some time ago. Well, I just finished the one for Othello.

While Othello is not my favorite play, it was fun and educational to listen to this one as well. The Macbeth version was only 5 CDs, but this one was 10 CDs, and included a lot more background information on Shakespeare and Elizabethan culture, especially in regards to foreigners and people of different races.

I also learned about the inspiration for Othello, which you can read here.

If you have time for these, I recommend you listen to them. I just get them on Interlibrary loan. I'm going for Hamlet next.
