Welcome to Lovers of Shakespeare

To be or not to be, that is the question;
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep;
No more; and by a sleep to say we end
The heart-ache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to — 'tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wish'd. To die, to sleep;
To sleep, perchance to dream. Ay, there's the rub,
For in that sleep of death what dreams may come,
When we have shuffled off this mortal coil,
Must give us pause.

Yes, I like watching that version as well. There are a few things I don't like about it, but not much. Geraldine McEwen was kind of hammy as the nurse, and I didn't like some ofthe special effects.

Just watched the Anthony Hopkins "Titus". In my opinion a stunning film.

Yes, looks potentially good. I wonder if she's playing a man, or if they adapted the character to be female.

Hellen Mirren as Prospero! Hard to judge from a trailer but it looks like it could be an exiting and interesting film.

What does Shakespeare have to do with punk rock?

musical culture began to take shape amid the unrest of Great Britain during the mid nineteen-seventies. With the emergence of bands like the Sex Pistols and the Clash, the punk rock movement sparked a nihilistic ethos and a new sound that would change the musical landscape forever. While the modern day use of the word ‘punk’ might suggest anarchistic youth, William Shakespeare used the term quite differently over four hundred years ago. So how did this word evolve from a derogatory term aimed at a woman to a derogatory term aimed at a young man?

Heh! That's funny. What a scandal that would be.
