Hmmm, would any of you fellow New Orleans Atheists be up for monthly get togethers at a bar? Atheists who drink together, think together, no?

Of course, something sans alcohol and similar to the Shreveport group is fine by me, too.

Any objections to Gordon Biersch or Nirvana sometime?

David...I would definitely attend if I lived in the Shreveport area. But, I'm about an hour & a half east of you.

"Herding the cats", was an attempted campaign by some respected atheists on MySpace, a few months ago. It does not appear to have been successful - at least in my opinion - at least partially because there was no single place for any of us to gather.

Perhaps this is the place. Let's hope so anyway.

Whatever else it is, the Atheist Nexus appears to be a place where we can gather, consolidate our resources, and gather our strength in numbers.

A place like this very much gives us the chance to become UNITED - which is something we very much need to do - if we are going to fight what can best be described - in my opinion - as The New Dark Ages, of Theism.

There is a group in Shreveport which is called - appropriately enough - Shreveport Atheists. We meet on the third Thursday of every month, at 7:00 PM, at the Pizza Hut located on East King's Hwy, near Youree Drive. The website for our little group, is ShreveportAtheists.com

Cool, I'm not the only one! :)

Anyone in north La??? I'm having a hard time finding people of like mind. I'm a college student (although not the typical college age--older) and I thought I would easily meet freethinkers there. But, there are no freethinking groups other than the philosophy club. Anyone go to ULM???
