Thanks for the trivia on the characters from The Hobbit, James. I believe that Glóin also had a cameo in Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. As the guests arrived for the meeting of Elrond's council in Rivendell, an older Dwarf was accompanying Gimli and sat beside him when the group convened. This was probably his father, Glóin.
