Steph: Wow. Brain dead moment. Here I am saying I'll check out your writer's group, and I'm already joined up. LOL. ;-)

Catherine: My dear sister (who eventually went on to be a grade 3 teacher) taught me to read when I was 3. I was reading and understanding National Geographic by the time I was 4. I think reading about and being fascinated by science is what got me to the point I'm at today. So, I guess you could say my sister is the reason I'm an atheist. :-)

Ok Steph, but then I'll have to post all my papers there, which at this point is 5 in total (including the one I am finishing up this very moment), and will be up to 7 in six weeks time. I'll start posting them after I've finished up here. :-)

Jedi you could post your paper in my writers group. I'm sure more would love to read it, myself included. Ok movie now.

Oh, so cool that you are reading my paper Catherine! I will have to go back and read the Iliad again now that I know what I'm doing. As a kid its all just adventure and who knows what, but Homer really comes to life in maturity. He was a master story-teller, so yes, I think they must both have been written by him except the last two chapters of the Odyssey. You might notice that the style changes dramatically, the incisive wit vanishes, and the poetry suffers. Some good bits in there, but I think they must have been added later.

And yes, I did start reading early, by age 3 if my mother remembers correctly, and have been an avid reader for most of my life.

You are correct David, a lot of us do enjoy writing. If you get back into it I have a group, you could posts your stories in. : )

I always find it interesting how many introverts enjoy writing. Maybe it's just me, but I would say the major portion of introverts I've met (myself included) are writers of some sort. Be it fiction, non-fiction, short stories, blogs, whatever. For me, it usually fiction, although I haven't written much in far too long. Maybe I should get back onto Ficly, again. :-)

David I did buy that book from Amazon .. I think I'll start a discussion so we can all discuss it here. Looks like most of us will be buying or have the book. Thanks again David!

Sounds like a great book, David. I've been borrowing library books to my e-reader so will add this book to my list. Thanks.

Oh, mal chance! I don't read French. What a shame, because that sounds like something I would just love. I'm not well-versed or anything, but I love Greek mythology. I just wrote a paper on the Odyssey, but I write philosophy, non-fiction only. :-)
