Just watching this interesting documentary on PBS. It contains a wonderful segment on the common history of Homo sapiens and Cannabis.

Comment by Alan Perlman on June 19, 2012 at 8:22pm Count me IN. As a longtime supporter of NORML, I was invited to the Board dinner when they met in Chicago, sixteen stories above Lake Michigan, the air was filled with smoke and the fragrance of great food. Keith Stroup got up and said he founded NORML "because I like to smoke pot, goddammit!" A great moment.
Comment by Alex Barnham on May 29, 2012 at 7:01pm When I took my first "hit", I agreed with everyone that it was "good shit"...it left me speechless...a testimony of smoking good shit...freedumb of speechlessness...ha!!!
Comment by TNT666 on April 29, 2012 at 10:36am Just watched a most excellent documentary about the early years of smuggling it in Florida called Square Grouper: The Godfathers of Ganja. In it you get acquainted with three groups (Coptics--bunch of right-wing homophobic freaks!, the Black Tuna Gang--who as a group did over 100 years in jail!, and Everglades City residents) of weed smugglers taken down by the law, did their time, and come back to screen to talk about it.
IMDB describes it best:
The incredible true story of the 1970's pot smuggler culture. A colorful portrait of Miami's pot smuggling scene of the 1970s, populated with redneck pirates, a ganja-smoking church, and the longest serving marijuana prisoner in American history.
Of course Jimmy Buffet singing Square Grouper in the background.
