@Ramez Atallah, yes that would be great. I will make sure to contact you and all other members interested in meeting other Freethinkers and to set a date and time for so that suites most of us (at least)!

My oldest friend wants to do a Masters in your field. However, he is thinking of doing it elsewhere.

For now I wish you a great weekend my dear!

@Phantom9877, the book is about deconversion stories of young Lebanese. About 12 people have either contributed their stories or are in the process of writing. It is a nice project which we can discuss when we meet.

CLAFA is a facebook page ( https://www.facebook.com/CLAFA.fb ) which's name stands for Coalition of Lebanese Atheists, Freethinkers and Agnostics. It started by 2 AUB students about a year and a half ago. The admins and some of members hold regular meetings and trips (3 weeks we had a BBQ together)!

Currently some of the Admins and members are working on launching an association for Humanists in Lebanon. However this is proving much of a difficult task! :)

@Batoul Balhas, first welcome to our little group here dear. Yes, I am quite familiar with that group and possibly all Atheist groups  on facebook in Lebanon (and the Middle East). The admins are also running the facebook page CLAFA. I am a (close) friend to many of the admins of both that group and page, and we meet on regular basis. We are actually both planning future steps together and running current projects!

Anyway, I need to highlight the importance of having a group in a forum outside facebook. Basically if fundamentalists know of such a group, it is cooked. Whining trolls usually start and they would only stop when the attacked page or group is disabled by facebook (just last month I lost about 5000 followers due to "Reporting Jihad"). Once a facebook page or group is disabled it is virtually impossible to get it back! :(

Here we can rest assured that this group will not be disabled (unless the whole website is hacked, which is highly unlikely)!

Come together one and all

Hello fellow atheists!  I have joined this site in an attempt to find other rational individuals, such as myself, and to promote a current charity drive that I am trying to get going for the Oklahoma tornado victims.  I have managed to get many groups from around my area, including the Beyond Belief Foundation to back me on this endeavor.

I am located in Newnan, Ga and have my own atheist group entitled "Coweta County Atheists".  I am currently being backed by Spaulding Co.…

Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film video

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:37pm 0 Comments

There is a video of the Pope's 'exorcism' caught on film.  The man isn't demon possessed, there are likely no 'real' demons.  He's just delusional and doesn't want to accept personal responsiblity for his own behavior for his own dysfunctional life.

Do you support 'traditional' marriage, vot now ad

Posted by Debra Stevenson on May 21, 2013 at 2:28pm 2 Comments

There is an ad that reads ' Do you support 'traditional' marriage? Vote Now"!  .

No, I don't support 'traditional' marriage because there is no such thing. I support heterosexual and same-sex couples marry each other legally , yes.  'Traditional' marriage promoters largely do not believe that heterosexual women are co-equal to their husbands.  Their only purpose in 'traditional' marriage is to sexually satisfy their husbands if they can and raise children and do all…

War on Christmas in May

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/05/21/texas-merry-christmas-bill_n_3312786.html?utm_hp_ref=politics

i've got no problem with everyone saying "merry christmas" on christmas day.  however, they've turned it into an entire holiday season where it lasts a month or more.  in those situations it should be perfectly acceptable to say "happy holidays" or call it a…
