I also wanted to mention that with the help of Americans United we were able to get the Warren County Jailer to remove a cross and the greeting "Happy Easter" from the Jailer's county, taxpayer-funded website. Thanks, AU!

For any interested in the Bowling Green vicinity, we have a Meetup Group. See: Bowling Green Freethinkers or you can email us bgfreethinkers@gmail.com

National Day of Prayer - May 5:  I have noted via their website National Day of Prayer Events that there are a number of these evangelical Christian prayer events taking place INSIDE public, taxpayer-supported places, like City Halls, Courthouses, etc.  Now, we cannot stop them from praying in their own churches or even outside, but we can - and should object - to them having exclusionary Christian events in facilities which need to be strictly secular. Please check their website and contact their coordinators to let them know your opinion. Doesn't hurt to mention that - if you are - a member of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State OR the Freedom From Religion Foundationas doing so tendency to scare them.

I'm thinking about getting some kind of meet up type event going in my part of western Kentucky. Specifically, the Webster/Hopkins/Henderson/Union counties area. Is anybody here from that area?

It's here, it's here, it's here. There is a new group for all of you in the eastern region near Ashland. Check out the tag (tristate atheist group) on the Nexus or on Meetup.com.

Also, the Lexington Atheist group will be meeting this Wednesday at Common Grounds Coffee house at 7:pm. Check out the group on meetup.com or just email me for directions. (I will buy you a coffee if you tell me you saw this post!!!)
