For those who live in Owensboro, Ky or close to it, we've been working on putting together a group -- the Owensboro Freethinkers -- for atheists, freethinkers, humanists, etc.  Please check out our Facebook page under groups for more information.  We get together twice a month (2nd Thursday and 4th Saturday).  If you're in the area, we're a small group, but we're trying to grow.  Feel free to visit us to network with other like-minded folks who share freethinking values.

and I generally don't misspell "you're" but don't see how to correct it.

Bowling Green Picnic - Sunday, June 24, 2012 12:00pm until 3:00pm

Pack a picnic lunch and join area freethinkers, atheists, and agnostics for a fun family day at the park! We have the main pavilion at Kereiakes reserved. This is the large shelter with the restrooms. There are several picnic tables but you may want to bring blankets or chairs. (Alcohol is not allowed in Bowling Green City parks.) There will be children's activities and door prizes. Bring yourself or the entire family. Everyone is welcome! You don't want to miss it! We'd appreciate knowing if your coming. See our event on our FB page

Anyone know how to protest the fact I have to vote in a church? I hate the fact that I'll have to drive down to a local, backwoods church to vote for my next elected officials.

Wish there was more activity on here. Been in KY for over a year and would love to find some other atheists to hang out with. My wife and I would give anything to find another normal, atheist couple with young kids. We need rational people to relate to!!!

PLEASE do not go to my page and nag at me for not being more active on this site.  It pisses me off.

Hi Cody. Kentucky is, like most southern states, a hot bed for religion and being brought up that way make a change tough. Glad to hear that you are thinking for yourself. It ain‘t easy son, but you will feel genuine relief when you can cast off the shackles of your brainwashing and live life without guilt. Hang in there. You have a lot of support. As a transplanted Kentuckian, I am not well loved for my beliefs but that’s their insecurity not my atheism.

Hello all. Just wanted to drop a line and let everyone know who I am. I'm what you could probably say is a new found Atheist/Freethinker. I'm still breaking myself free from being raised Baptist. I would love to hear from some of you.

There is a Reason Rally bus scheduled to leave from Louisville and Lexington. The cost is only $105 from Louisville and $95 from Lexington, but the Secular Student Alliance is providing coupons for 50% off. You do not have to be an SSA member to get the coupon at http://www.secularstudents.org/ReasonRally/BusCoupon. So the cost is only $52.50 or $47.50.

After getting the coupon, you need to register for the Louisville bus at http://reasonrally.dcrallybus.com/Travel/From/Louisville or http://reasonrally.dcrallybus.com/Travel/From/Lexington.

It is possible that the Louisville and Lexington buses may be combined.
