WHAT'S THE MATTER WITH KANSAS? NOTHING THAT A FEW WELL ORGANIZED AND CONNECTED ATHEISTS CAN'T FIX. FROM ENDING THE PRACTICE OF CHURCHES BEING POLLING PLACES, TO KEEPING IDIOTS FROM POLLUTING OUR SCIENCE STANDARDS..

Hello all. I am a bit new to this. I was wondering if there are any Athiest events of any type in Kansas this summer? I am in Southwest Kansas, so I know I would have to travel some distance, but thats ok, because any excuse is good for a motorcycle ride.

thanks in advance

Greetings. Glad to find a Kansas Group.

Dear Brothers Buck and Sparrow,
For starters, in the previous post, Brother Sam's amanuensis inserted a comma where no comma oughta go. Goddamn him, her, or it. Thank you for subscribing, Buck. Actually, the Wichita show will not be invitation-only; it simply will not be publicized--out of respect for a member of the team who has people in the area and whose life might be unduly complicated by the usual promotional push. The purpose of the show will be be to shoot a video at Wichita State, where this same team member did graduate work and still has close friends. Tickets will be available on the website and at Brown Paper Tickets. Should be fascinating.
Love,
BS

Welcome to Kansas, Brother Sam. So, you're playing an "invitation-only" show in the Sunlower State?! This sounds to me like a gathering for a bunch of elitists! However, if Brother Sam were to looking to spread his message to common folk, booking the Orpheum Theater (http://www.wichitaorpheum.com/rental.php), along with affordable tickets and a little promotion, might indeed lead to some new converts. Underscore "might," though. This could be a tough market for such ideas. I haven't yet explored any gatherings geared toward atheists, so I can only guess. I think the college town of Lawrence could be a terrific spot for your show. I've subscribed to your YouTube page and will listen to the sermons for more perspective.

Brother Sam does not speak of himself in the third person. Like, the Apostle Paul, he speaks through an amanuenses. Thanks for the information.

Ah...sorry, Sam. Not used to people talking about themselves in the third person. If you're looking for someone, you might try contacting the Atheist Community of Topeka. I've met them and they're very nice. Dunno how many of them there are.

Brother Sam, as in Sam Singleton Atheist Evangelist. I'm told that BS's agents tried repeatedly to put something together in Lawrence, but struck out. There's a group called SOMA at KU, but they appear to be more or less inert.
The lack of places to play in Kansas is a drag, since you can't get anywhere without passing (endlessly) across Kansas. A show or two along the way would provide a nice respite. And, by the way, Brother Sam's creator (at least he HAS one) finds much of Kansas beautiful.

Brother Sam as in Sam Harris? I dunno. You might be able to get a sizeable group of people who'd want to see him. Gotta keep towns like Lawrence in mind.

Brother Sam will be passing through Kansas in April and May. It's a given that, with the exception of a planned invitation-only show in Wichita, he will not be performing in the Sunflower State. Imagine the size of the crowd if he did. Not so much a crowd as a group. A small group. A very Small group. OK. It'd be just one other guy. A spy for the right-to-lifers. A heavily armed spy for the right-to-lifers.
Still, Brother Sam would welcome the chance to meet up with friendly Jayhawkers. Suggestions?

It's good to see your post, Doug. This group has been a little too quiet.
