PodCastAwards Announcer Fail

I ripped this from the PodCastAwards feed. Even though we lost (probably lost big!), I consider Cochrane's complete failure to pronounce our name a small victory.

I listen to a lot of great podcasts out of .au. Richard Saunders is was on my favorite skeptics. I, too, am an origamist. Uh oh, now some skunk dick will tell Chuck and Leighton I am cheating on them with Richard and I will be forever banned (again) from their podcast.

Ooh! my own weekly award? Cool.

Thanks for the update Mims - So I'm assuming that yourself and the boys probably actually agree on a lot of things. Am I detecting a love hate relationship where the hate is now more theatrical and the love more genuine? How sweet.

So Charles and Leighton, Tell me how I could piss you off enough to get my own award?

Seriously though, Mims, I can imagine the frustration of being totally surrounded by whackos - here in Australia things are slightly less nutty, but my family are fundo charismatic evangelicals, and my wife's family are Seventh Day Adventist. Both her father and brother are pastors, so the two of us are very much Black Sheep, so I can understand your exasperation.

I must get around to listening to the SDA podcast - have downloaded it but haven't had the chance to listen ye4t.

I hurt their feelings by giving them a poor rating on iTunes. Check some of the older episodes, late '09 and earlier this year for the development of the whole thing. They even interview me a couple of months ago. I actually like Leighton and Charles. I am just an old, cranky atheist secular humanist who has lived many years in Mississippi, surrounded by crazed theists. It can get to you, and one night I just popped off on Charles and Leighton. The are really bright young ex-Mormons with twisted minds. My kind of people. I have been really impressed by the recent podcasts on Mormonism. Anyway, it is worth going through all their old podcasts and listening to the development of Irreligiosophy. Then you, too, can give them a bad review and get your own weekly award.

Ok, so who's Mims Carter and why doyou give him such a hard time? (I'm new to irreligiosophy) - seems like he's an atheist and you spend most time mocking religious nutjobs, so what did Mims do to raise your ire?

Mims, maybe you want to answer this yourself?

Love podcast 56: LDS Temple Ceremony. Heard about your podcast on another podcast ... and went straight to iTunes and my iPod ... great info and entertainment. Ready to have my inner thighs anointed now.

I discovered your podcast via The Conspiracy Skeptic podcast and this has fast become my favorite podcast. I like the irreverence and humor, combined with interesting topics. Keep up the good work.

I recently found your podcast and have only listened to a couple of shows, but have enjoyed them and look forward to listening to the rest. I look forward to being able to follow you on her as well!

Welcome to Atheist Nexus. Thank you for the award you have named after me. I am honored. I was going to delete your podcast from my subscription list after listening to #45 to hear if you mentioned my review of the podcast, but now I must keep it so I can make sure you maintain your sense of humor. Happy Winterval, see you next year.
