I'm from Bangalore. Would like to know if there is any weekly or monthly meet up for atheists. If not, it would be nice to come up with one and take it forward. Interested folks please acknowledge.

@Jennifer: Bangalore has many atheists. The rationalist movement is also well represented in Bangalore. One of the writers I work with also puts out a monthly e-zine called Bangalore Skeptic. http://nirmukta.com/bskeptic/

Lol. @quietude, i wouldn't actually tell someone they were stupid. That comment was made in jest. The real point of the post was to talk about the stupid, ignorant, misinformed THINGS people say.

@Jennifer, I would try to not to tell them they are 'stupid' because atheists can say stupid things too.

It depends on whether they have the power to fire me or not. Haha.

Hello. I'm Jennifer. I live in Bangalore and seem to be the only atheist around. Obviously, I am not. It's nice to see other people with my views. I recently started work and unfortunately have to deal with religious morons of the highest level. I'm totally for believing in whatever imaginary friends you want to believe in. But sometimes the things they say make me want to claw my ears off.
How do you guys deal with the stupid things that people say? Do you ignore it? Offer your opinion? Or do they more fun thing-tell them they are inexorably stupid-and watch them fume.

Dont get me started on Dasavatharam. What a horrible movie, and i was appalled at how Kamal hasan ,an avowed atheist could star in such a fatalist and theistic imbibed movie...
i expected a balanced view on the vaishnavite-Shaivite schism in south india ,but i only got this drivel
