Given that atheist groups in Idaho aren't all that well published here (or elsewhere) I figured it wouldn't hurt to list a few. I hang around West Valley Free Thinkers for the most part (brace for…Continue

It looks like we have representation in the East and West in the Southern ID area and in the North as well. We are growing and it feels good to know that in a state so much powered by theists that we can find like minds in the Gem state! Invite your Atheist friends to join us. There is an Athiest group in Boise, do any of you have any information about them, they have a highway cleanup sign on State Street. That is all I know about them

Dustin, is great to see you join the group, as we get a few additional members, we can start planning some get together events, or at least some action steps we can take to wake up Idaho Atheists

My company is transferring me from the Seattle area to Boise in about a month. How are the atheist groups in the area?

I was born in Idaho Falls, College in Moscow, A few years in Seattle, and back to the Gem State. I love Idaho because of the natural beauty. I am an Atheist because I can't believe in something that is obviously created by man to control mankind. It is difficult to talk with people that are refusing to look beyond their "blind faith", and I am sure that my comments to most of them either make them uncomfortable, or the feel that I am full of sin. I have had many conversations with people about religion and the best discussions I have found are the I believe in One less God than you do. My challenge to Idaho Atheists is to take this idea of "one less God" and create a formal document that we can work it into a letter to the editor, and provide a bit of insight to some of the folks that may have similar beliefs as we do, and invite them to Atheist Nexus as well as the Idaho atheist group. If we put letters to the editors we could cover Moscow, Pocatello, Idaho Falls, and Boise. If we make the article inviting and not damning, we may pick up people all over the state, and can enlarge the campaign.

We may be a small state, but we have a base here to start with. I think a target of 200 Idaho members would be a good one for us in 2010. What say ye fellow members:-)

I'm a transplant from Maryland, to Virginia, and recently to Idaho.... but I know there must be more than 2 atheists in this state! (In fact, I'm involved in a project here (not atheist related) with 3 other atheists.)
