Richard,

Yeah I am curious to know if just being a regular licensed minister would allow one to do official humanist ministry?

Dennis,

Are you still doing any kind of official ministry in a humanist capacity?  Just curious.

I am a Humanist Minister in Utah. I have one wedding planned, though they don't have a date set.  I have been trying to see what I would need (credential wise) to be able to visit people in jail as clergy.

I see perhaps this is not your intention for the group.

I was a ordained Presbyterian minister for 16 years from 1981 to 1997 when my credentials were rescinded due to inactivity in seeking a call. I had been ordained in 1981 to the Orthodox Presbyterian Church after Seminary, an Internship and receiving a call to a church in the Chicagoland area. At that point I had been a professed Christian for about 10 years.

Now I'm a Humanist/Atheist and no longer ordained or in the church in any capacity.

Wow! I think that's great. I was hoping to use this group (and/or forum) to think about and discuss humanist ministry. The idea seems to be lacking in most discussions.

Are you licensed?

I've performed a couple secular weddings. It was a great experience for everyone involved. It would be great to pool resources together for each other. Let me know how I can help participate.
