My mother was a German Jew (Yiddish) but I was raised a Christian, but now am an agnostic. But I like being around other Jews.

About 15 years ago I was active for a while on a email list for HJ that was online. I don't know if that HJ e-list still exists actively (outside of the online archive for that list, which is still there somewhere in cyberspace). If it's still there, they might as well move over the active HJ list to this Atheist Nexus website and even to this group Humanist Jews. What do you think?

Hi everyone! :-)

It looks like maybe the other group, Jewish Atheists, is for atheists who exited Judaism, while this is for atheists who never left Judaism. I'm sure I'll find out soon enough if this understanding is correct or not. I've decided I'll just keep a foot in both groups, smile, because I also saw stuff in the other group that I found of interest.

I'm an atheist but I've never left Judaism. I grew up in the Birmingham Temple in Farmington Hills, MI. I'll always feel that Humanistic Judaism is part of me. I don't know how much I'll participate in this group yet.

So, hello again everyone! :-)
