A chocolate lab was allegedly tethered outside without food, water or shelter and was discovered there in December, deceased and presumed to have died due to exposure. A border collie left inside the trailer - also reportedly without food or water - had managed to stay alive by eating garbage, and has since been adopted into a new home. Cody and Jessica Manning have been charged with animal cruelty and currently have a court date scheduled for March 1, 2010.
Polite letters may be sent to the El Paso County Sheriff through ALDF's website, thanking his office for their diligence in this case and for recognizing that their community expects and appreciates that animal cruelty be taken seriously by law enforcement.
