I have loved music since I was a kid.  A healthy part of this love came from my father, who himself was a classical music aficionado, as well as from records my parents got me when I was little. …Continue

Last Tuesday I managed to be swept up into a "perfect storm" of laundry:  six loads needed to be done in one day!  Five at home and one around the corner at the local laundry mat (a comforter and a bedspread.)  Believe me, it was not fun.  I'll stick to my postcard hobby.

Not the brightest dog around. But he can be entertaining.

Sentient - the hobby for your dog is to watch the fireplace - how nice. It is relaxing to watch a fire in the fireplace. They even have DVD's of fireplaces.

Nope - no laundry for me. You guys have fun with that hobby.

How's everyone?

Oh, wait....

"I prop the top open on the washer and wash the clothes swoosh around and rotate top to bottom in there.  I watch the water go from clean to dirty - I could stand there and watch the whole cycle, it's better than TV!"

You know, I used to like watching the laundry going around and around too.  Not sure when that stopped.

I have a dog who sits and stares at the fireplace, too.

There's no hobby club for laundry?  No Maytaggers?  So disappointed.

Hey, you've given me an idea.  If I can convince people that laundry and dishes and house cleaning are hobbies, they'll want to do mine for fun.

Here's a question - what's the difference between a hobby and something that you do a lot of?  I don't know the answer.  I read, I garden, I study stuff I like.  I am getting started in beekeeping.  I have chickens.  I think the bees and chickens fall under the gardening category, but they are also a step in cooking.  An early step.  I also renovate my house.  That last isn't so much fun any more tho.

The Rednecks are coming, the Rednecks are coming

Actually, the rednecks are here and everywhere. Let me say, I'm not a big fan of these people. That's putting it mildly. Need I describe them? You know who I mean. This seems to be the time of year when they come out of the woodwork. Here in Indiana, as the weather gets nice, the motorcyclists are out in full force. I hate the noise cycles make. Then there's the Indianapolis 500 fans, the majority of which are rednecks. Interview them or a typical Pacer fan (big news as they face the Miami…See More
