New to this group.  Professionally I'm a translator (speak English, Spanish, French and Portuguese), but I'm also an aspiring FOSS hacker, Debian Gnu/Linux user, and Free Software supporter.  I develop websites (especially multilingual sites), as well, with html and css skills, learning php and javascript, jquery, etc., pretty handy with joomla and wordpress. I write software primarily in tcl/tk, but also a bit of python, perl, bash, etc.  I've used gnu/linux for a decade, but still consider that I'm hardly an expert. There's always more to learn.

Worried about your laptop or portable device wandering off without you... well worry no more. Prey the open source anti-theft multi-platform solution could be the answer you are looking for.

In case some of you were not aware of the Dispora project, it is suppose to go open source today, and to beta in October.

How's this for blasphemy? Give Richard Stallman a heart attack. Running Ubuntu, XP, emacs and IE6 live in the same workspace - no switching or alt-tabbing:

I opined at work yesterday: Using Microsoft Access to develop a multi-user application is like riding a unicycle to work and then trying to carpool with it.

My first iPhone app is in the app store. The target audience is people who participate in road rallies, but if you would like to take a look go to http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/rallycalc/id344009314?mt=8.
