Ok, getting the daughter a laptop for school and I want one for me. She is a junior in high school in advance studies. I'm a 39-40 year old guy. She listens to music, websurfs, watches her favorite shows on the computer. I websurf, blog, and also watch my shows and listen to music on the computer. Are PC is older and slow on the web. I hate the Norton's program having to run all the time.

What are we looking for? Is the Mac too much computer for us? Is the Windows 7 and security programs what we need?

I did a build up of a PC laptop for her and one for me. It was only a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than the Mac iPro, and that was with a three year script to Nortons.

Windows 7 is awesome. I would look into a netbook (presumably from ASUS) with Windows 7 on it. But what ever PC you go with( don't get an Acer, Toshiba or Lenovo), I would go with either Avira Antivir, Avast, or AVG if you want a free virus scanner. If you want to pay for an antivirus program you can buy the proffesional version of Avira Antivir or you can get Kaspersky, stay away from Norton and McAffee. As for word processing and such, get Open Office, it's just like Microsoft office but Free!
Cool Beans! Thanks
