Ubuntu vs Mint - any opinions ?

I'm building a new laptop. Any pros / cons between the two ? Mint just looks like Ubuntu with lipstick.

I haven't used Mint, but I looked at descriptions and reviews and it appears your analogy is correct.

Mint seems to be just a dressed up Ubuntu for those unwilling to install plugins themselves.

Personally I use Ubuntu (yeah I know I am getting in late on this subject). I find it over all the most user friendly version, plus it runs XBMC fantastically.
