Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Wow Patricia, that is a lot to deal with.  I'm sure we have some of the same symptoms.  I have/had a hiatial hernia (I called it an esophogeal hernia earlier because I couldn't think of the word, lol0, and reflux.  My Nissen Fundoplication surgery was supposed to take care of that, but it didn't totally.  I am on Nexium for the acid.   I take a high dose of Nortriptylene  for all my other symptoms.  It's not even meant for my symptoms, but my Gastro said it works on lots of his patients with symptoms like mine, and hey whatever works!!  Sorry we both have to deal with stuff like this, but so many people have so many different things to deal with, and like you said, you do what you gotta do!!!  Life can suck sometimes! At least we know that no 'god' planned this for us! LOL

My issues are GERD/reflux/hiatial hernia/irritable bowel/collagenous colitis. My meds are Dicetel, Pariet, Asacol, & sometimes Lomotil when I'm out of remission. This is no fun & even in remission, I never feel 'well', so I know full well how it can affect normal life. But, ya do what ya gotta do.

Cool, I wondered what was up with all the pirate stuff today!  lol

Lillie, I don't think it's an auto-immune thing.  No one has ever mentioned that before.  My son, 18, does have an auto-immune disease: Type 1 diabetes.  Lots of people think it's like Type 2 which it definitely is not!  Totally different.  I always feel the need to educate about it.  Lots of people seem to think like Type 2, if he exercised and ate better, it would go away.  Nooooooo, we are always explaining his body killed the cells that produce insulin, so he is on an insulin-pump until they find a cure.  My 'thing' whatever it is, is very nothing while I'm on my meds, and with my son living with Type 1, I am not going to complain too much!  I would give anything if I could take his Type 1 diabetes for him.  What IS really scary, is that so many auto-immune diseases are becoming more prevalent.  What is going on in our world that makes this so?!!!

Don't want to end the night on a bad note, so sleep well my friends! :)
