Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Glad you enjoyed my videos Joan and Patricia.  Joan, to answer your questions, I started playing the sax when I was 13.  When I was a kid I grew up listening to a lot of jazz and 'big band' music, so I've always liked the saxophone.  I played in band all through high school and I was a music major in college.  I joined this community band about five years ago after a 15-year absence of not playing at all.  These days, it's a enjoyable and fun hobby.  We have two major concerts each year....one in the Fall and one in the Spring.  I also took piano lessons as a kid but I'm not very good.  I actually have a piano but it more or less has become a large, unused piece of furniture that collects dust in my living room.  This past December I decided that I want to give it away to my (very happy) niece.  She'll get more use out of it than I do.  One of these days it's going to make the journey from Chicago to Pennsylvania.

Love the happy cow, Ian!  And sausage cat, Flying Atheist!

Cow water beds. Interesting. So much friendlier than hay if they aren’t cold.

Enjoy your visit, booklover. Tell us how it went. That spy cam pic took me a bit to “get”.

I didn’t know people could get theobromine poisoing. Thanks for the link..

Thanks FA....that was most enjoyable. Am a long time music lover & have a huge variety in my collection. Used to play sax myself, but was not talented enough to go anywhere with it.

Grinning Cat, thanks for the computer instructions. I like your clue on making passwords.

The Flying Atheist, I am impressed! I see you easily, thanks for clueing us to where you are in the orchestra. Did you play when you were in school? How did you pick the sax? Do you play other instruments?

Thanks G Cat.  I thought I knew all about passwords, but didn't know about the memorable phrase idea.  Sounds like a good way to generate a password that I can remember.

You never know what you'll stumble upon when surfing the internet.  I just found two videos of the community band in which I play saxophone.  These were recorded two years ago.  I thought I'd share a little bit of what I do in my free time.  I'm third row on the right, fourth person in.  I hope you enjoy.
