Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Welcome home, Chris. Glad you had a good holiday. I'd like to hear more as you've been places I want to visit.

Sorry to disappoint you Joan but I've tried celery in many forms and in more than one country. It's like liver, kidney and most types of cheese: not for me. My taste buds and digestion say "no" and I listen.

I DISLIKE how narrow these columns are anymore!

Sounds like a really nice trip Chris!  I'm glad you had a good time!  That bridge between Sweden and Norway is amazing!  I showed my husband.

Ha ha about the cat Loren, but I think the saying is funny Steph. :)

I wondered that about the bridge too Ruth.

Thank you for sharing what you are going through with us Joan.  It is interesting to know.  Of course I wish you did not have to know  it at all!!!

sk8eycat, I didn't know the history of this cat, and shame on breeders for too much inbreeding.

Now, here is a new low in "reporting"

Grumpy Cat Has Died. :(

Only at the end do they reveal April Fools. I hate this!

Oh my goodness, Ian, you must not have had the delicious celery that sometimes comes on the market. Fresh, crisp, the taste of green, and so sweet. Not like the bitter stuff that arrives occasionally. Celery doesn't do well in my garden, so I am a green grocer shopper.

Loren, I feel sorry for that cat; she's has several genetic defects...she doesn't walk well...a victim of to much inbreeding, because Snowshoe and Siamese variations have become so popular. I just hope her humans don't try to breed her!

(I would also like to slap the people who breed "Munchkin" cats, Sphinx [hairless] cats, and several other freak breeds.)

Hi all, just reading everything I missed in my holiday. We arrived last night, after a beautiful flight from Naples. We could even make pictures of the Alps from 11 km. high. Naples is wonderful, but much poorer than we thought. We spent our five days in Pompei, museums, seeing the sights and a bustrip up the Vesuvius, to the point where it is only a short walk to the crater rim. Really fantastic to do, but very unusual for flatlanders!

Among the souvenirs Mortality by Christopher Hitchens; I had missed that book here. And a  holiday is not complete without a stack of books!

I'm so glad Joan is doing as well as possible!
