Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Are you battling cancer or a cancer survivor?

Happily, I am now a five year breast cancer survivor, and I am thankful to my friends, family, my health care team, and to science and medical discoveries. Dealing with cancer and treatment is never easy and it's damned scary, but it is easier when…Continue

Have a great weekend everyone!  My Mom and I are going to Green Bay (Packers-ugh! lol) for the weekend to visit my Sister and her family, so I probably won't be around here until Monday. ~ Mindy <3

Joan, I send you positive energy too. Sorry to hear about the hematoma interrupting your chemo. My thoughts are with you.

Great Alan Alda quote, Melinda.

I always hate to see people throwing food. It's worse than fingernails on a chalkboard.

sk8eycat, thanks for the Mother Theresa story. The flower cat was a hoot.

Flying Atheist, your donkey balls video broke me up.

Take care, everyone.

These tales about cats reminds me of a litter that shared the house my sibs and I occupied during the late 1930s. We named them for Snow White's dwarves, and when one of them ate a rubber band as if it was a sausage skin we named it Dopey. All these years later I still have a mental pic of the event.

Joan, thanx for "ophthorectumy"; I know several people I can lay it on. We war vets have a sometimes jarring sense of humor.

My experience with Catholicism tells me that MT had no internal strength. For a while during my early teens, the rigidity of Catholic beliefs protected me from the results of the doubt, etc, that nuns again and again said was sinful. In 11th grade I decided that doubt is necessary before learning can happen.

I saw a sadness in MT's words about her silence and emptiness, about her not seeing or hearing. Catholicism's rigidity served its intended purpose in her life.

My cats think any sized box will do.  It is so funny what they try to get in to.  Their favorites are my shoe boxes which is where I keep my shoes.  When I return home from an outing and shed my shoes, there is a cat or two in the box where I store that pair of shoes.  They are very indignant when dumped out to be replaced with shoes.

FA, love the cat that thinks any size box will do.

What a nice place to come after a ct scan; it was easy as laying down and no pain. Lots of cheer here, funny cats and boxes. Thanks so much for the encouragement, virtual hugs, and pink ribbons.
May 21 is my next surgery as well as a port installed for the chemo. On May 22 I will spend about five hours (I am told) to get the chemo started, small doses at a time.
I read all the literature people sent and I feel confident that I chose a protocol with a high success rate and few complications. I am ready! My teams are ready! Cancer Challenger Team, WE ARE READY!

Chris, have a great time in Naples.

I'm off to work soon and then to England straight from work in the morning. Have an enjoyable holiday weekend everyone.
