Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Steph, am I correct, the photo of book reader with cat is Ruth?

Ian, Hope your tooth repair gets strong, quickly, and you can get back to normal eating and activity soon.

I've been doing a little experimenting with my Rx's and find the culprit on my "bad days" appears to be glutamine. I have tried it with water, juice, yogurt, and my stomach just goes crazy right after I take it, and it lasts for 24 hours. Anyone else had that problem? I will talk to the dietitian on Monday.

Personally, Steph, recovering. Had to have the root-tip filling on a tooth re-done on Friday. Not too much discomfort now as I slapped an ice pack on soon after. No exercise or solids for a few days though.

Went to the cinema yesterday evening and saw Ken Loach's "The Angels' Share", which I do heartily recommend. You just have to feel good afterwards.

Joan, I hope you're feeling better. You could polish your head and use it to dazzle people who annoy you. :-D

Napoleon, do you mean that we really don't "own" them but that they simply tolerate us when they choose to do so?

Little Cat Diaries

In The Secret Life of the Cat, 50 cats were fitted with GPS collars to track their every movement, and cat-cams to record their unique view of the world. In this groundbreaking experiment, a few cats stood out.

They include the intruder cat, an unneutered tomcat, who comes into the village and seems to have no owner; the hunter, who prefers food that he can catch and kill to anything his owners might buy him; and the deserter cat who has abandoned his home in favour of a new set of owners.

This film reveals that the relationship between cats and their owners isn't quite what we imagine.

Had a bad day yesterday, that is all past and I am having a really great day today. I am moving toward robust health. My daughter and I tried on hats the other day and I can't stand them. So far, no one has fainted, seeing my shiny summit!

Carl, I love that piece from The Music Man, Pick a little. It is perfect for an article I am working on about the whining of the religious fundamentalist who feel picked on. Thanks.

My goodness, that dance number has so much energy, can't even imagine doing any of those moves. Great music and fun to watch.
