Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

That's really cute booklover - I love it - I'll have to add that one to my collection. It's great for biology too. : )

Idaho, that video was just something I saved from an email as I thought it was hilarious. Most likely real as far as I can tell.....seems to me it was from the LOL Goggies, but am not sure.

The wide-open eyes on that cat looking at the jumping dust-bunny is so amusing.

So, the xtian mafia is going around breaking legs?  I'm not surprised.

Thanks for the link Paula.  I thought replacement feet was just a joke, but I can believe they might be needed sometimes.  It is sad (and anger-inducing) that we have to put-up with vandalism from those 'loving' people.

I like several of those takeoffs on the fish.  My favorites are the one that says "Bite Me" and the fishy rocket ship that says "Science".

Love the sign Joan.

How's everyone doing today?

I enjoy your company. : )

Wonderful sign, Joan!  Some people figure if the parenting styles of their parents worked for them so why try any other way?  I made conscious decisions to NOT repeat some of the things my parents did raising me.  Although my kids are not perfect, they are self-assured, confident, and know they are valuable and loved.  And I always gave gentle reminders about manners and never had to 'ground' them for any reason.  You get what you give :)

via Patricia, Great poster. Even children or adults with severe brain dysfunction can be trained, and if not, other arrangements can be made to not take them to retail establishments. A badly behaved mentally healthy child reflects poor parenting techniques. Effective parenting is so easily learned, and easily accessible, there is no reason to do a poor job.
For those parents with mentally disabled children, the public has a responsibility to learn and understand challenges they face and not add to the problems.

The sign has a valid message; I agree and reposting.

I laughed when I first saw the replacement feed, then felt sad that such a loving bunch of people would vandalize.  Not very secure in their beliefs, eh?  Here is the link...scroll down about 3/4 of the way
