Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Thanks Felaine and Joan!  Everyone have a good Hump Day!

Ian, I really needed to spend a few days in somebody else's house with a big fat cat, and a fantabulous modern kitchen. I didn't do any real cooking this time...it was "salad weather"...but I did boil up a quart of hummingbird syrup, and filled the feeders.

I just needed to spend some time in a place where everything didn't reminded me of Hairy Jerry. It worked.  I'm not kicking myself anymore.

Now I have to get out my Mac laptop and learn how to use it. The difference between that and Microsoft scares me.

Mindy, I am very happy to learn of the developments for your daughter and you. Seems like positive steps toward growth. Being excited about changing events and looking toward possibilities can be so very uplifting. Taking new directions and going into the unknown can awaken unrealized interests. Good for both of you. Please keep us posted on the outcomes.

Mindy, many good wishes for both you and your daughter.  You may even enjoy dealing with customers and meeting new people. You might surprise yourself.

Best of luck, and a BIG HUG!

I'm impressed Patricia and Spud!!!  I don't know how!

Remember I told you guys my daughter wasn't going back to her university?  Well, she had no job, etc. and was trying to decide what to do.  Today she got hired as the hostess in a posh restaurant in our city!  Yay!  So at least she has an income, and can be in a nice environment, while she decides what path she wants to take now!  She is SO excited! lol. I am happy that she is happy, and is making some money now! ha ha.  I got offered a seasonal sales job, part-time, for of all things, during hockey-season. lol.  Our niece plays hockey on a traveling team, and our city has a minor league team and a big arena.  My sister-in-law said her friend that owns the stuff the team sells was looking for someone responsible.  I realize this is not exciting, but I haven't worked outside the home other than a few short spurts, or babysitting, etc.for over 22 years!  Also, I have a medical condition, and anxiety/panic-attacks.  I'm just going to tell myself that I'm going to do it to get out there back into the "real" world for the 3-month season, make a little money, and then, maybe I can look for a more permanent job doing something I'll even enjoy.  I'm kind of looking forward to having some money I earned myself, even though my husband has NEVER made me feel like his paychecks weren't OURS.  He's been great about that.

Thanks for listening my friends!  Hugs, Mindy

Thanks, folks. Your good wishes are very warming.

Glad you're back, Felaine and that you enjoyed a break.

Ian, a big hug back to you, and I'm glad you at least got to spend some time with your brother! I remember how hard it was to watch my scholarly grandpa quickly decline into dementia. Very hard to watch. :(
Glad you are back Felaine, and. enjoy your haircut and treat!
I will pass along the birthday wishes to my husband!
