Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by booklover on August 19, 2012 at 3:20pm sk8eycat, LOVE the pics of your cats! I've never had an orange one. I want an orange one, and I'd love a black and white one. Within the city-limits where I live, you're only 'allowed' 4 cats, dogs, or a combination. We have a dog and 3 cats. The reason they'd know if you had more is, when taking them to the vet to get their shots every year they have you pay a fee to the city for having them. So if you had more, I don't see how you could get around it, as not taking them to the vet is Not an option! I can't believe we have to pay a fee to the city to have our cats who never go outdoors!
Comment by booklover on August 19, 2012 at 2:50pm You're welcome Steph! Good for you! Don't let others tell you what to do! I don't know how many hundreds we spent on Legos when my son was a kid! He still has them too! :)
Comment by Idaho Spud on August 19, 2012 at 1:44pm Sk8ey, I smiled at the story about Jerry giving you A Look, and drinking like there was no tomorrow.
Oh cool - Legos!
That's right - no one tells cats what to do - I can say the same for me too. I'm like a cat in that way.
I just love that cat picture booklover - thanks for making me smile this morning.

Comment by Joan Denoo on August 19, 2012 at 1:37am Ian, the photo of that library is just stunning. It looks like a lot of skill went into doing the woodwork. Do you know where this is located? And Oh! My Goodness! the books!
Comment by Ian Mason on August 19, 2012 at 12:55am This is a smashing group to be in, Ruth and everyone. According to my computer, 227 pages of comments (and cats)
A real pleasure to read how so many have turned a bad start into a good life. Keep it up, you lovely people :-)
