Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by Joan Denoo on August 23, 2012 at 12:52pm Idaho Spud, No, I don't have a cat myself, but I have a wildlife refuge in my back yard and every cat in the neighborhood knows about it and comes calling every day. They had regular patterns, some come once a day, others more frequently. I have set up bird feeders and water with cages around them so the birds can escape the pouncing cat, thus, I have the best of both worlds. And I don't have to take care of anything, other than fill bird food and water daily. If I don't, the birds have a lovely pond just a block away from my home. Ducks and geese nest to the east of my house and fly over every morning on the way to their pond. A lovely sight to see them in formation going about their daily routine.

Comment by sk8eycat on August 23, 2012 at 11:34am As I was lying in bed pondering the problems of the world, it suddenly occurred to me that I don 't really care.
Think about this:
1. If walking/cycling is good for your health, the postman would be immortal.
2. A whale swims all day, only eats fish, drinks water, and is fat.
3. A rabbit runs and hops and only lives 15 years.
4. A tortoise doesn 't run and does nothing, yet it lives for 450 years.
And you 're telling me to exercise? I don 't think so. I 'm retired. Go around me.

What a beautiful hummingbird picture you posted Tony.
I saw a hummingbird just the other day in the yard by one of the apple trees.

Comment by Idaho Spud on August 23, 2012 at 6:30am Joan Denoo, I'm seriously considering bringing a cat home to live with me and wonder if you have any thoughts on the subject. I get the idea you don't have one.
Comment by Idaho Spud on August 23, 2012 at 5:49am Subwoofers made me smile :)
