Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Eat vegetables, Be happy

An association between the amount of fruit and vegetables people ate and their happiness? Yes indeed. People who ate 7 portions of fruits and/or vegetables a day were the happiest.…Continue

Sailing around the world in such a tiny boat with no GPS was quite a feat. I didn't remember that. I agree about the resemblance to Jabba the Hutt.

We had another tropical weather day, in the 90s (at least by our thermometer) and frequent abrupt intense short showers.

Hugs and snuggles to all!

I'm allowed to sleep with my pets, & it's been like that pretty much all my life. Wouldn't know what to do without someone stretching out to bigger than what they are.....hahaha!!!

Joan, I'm sorry about your mix-up and the stress it caused you!  I'm glad you and your daughter and granddaughter got a good explanation about your upcoming radiation.  Just hang-on for the last of the chemos!  We are here waiting for you.  I'm glad you have a nice routine going.  Many Hugs to you~ Mindy

Patricia, I absolutely LOVE the photo of the girl with the German shepherds!  Memories of a time when I was augmenting my skimpy (for females only) salary by pet-sitting. One couple had three of the largest sheperds I've ever dealt with and a king-size bed that would accommodate everyone.  I loved those dogs as if they were my own, and it was no problem at all getting used to sleeping with them (even though one had grand mal epilepsy).

I also dog-sat with a sweetly silly Weimaraner who insisted on sharing the guest bedroom with me, even though it only had a twin bed. (And I was a lot larger then than I am now.)

I miss all that. Sometimes.

I, with my daughter, Laura, and granddaughter, Laurie, had a very informative hour with the radiologist and he explained the procedures, their rationales and the research that bright them to this point in treatment. We all asked questions, he gave very straightforward answers, and I feel confident that I am on the track I want to be with their protocols. I start in radiation by having measurements taken on Sept 5, after my last chemo. Then I start six weeks of five times a week of radiation.
If I understand, from all the people I have talked with, there may be some fatigue ... I am used to that and have a nice routine of sleep and reading that suits me well.

I'm trying to get used to Firefocks  instead of Internut Exploder, and I'm terribly confused right now.  My security program, which shall remain nameless, became obsolete a few weeks ago WITHOUT ANY WARNING!!!  And I had more Trojan Horses on my network (not on my hard drive) than the stables at Santa Anita.  Everything is cleaned out now, including my bank account, and I'm going to make a cup of tea and crash.

BEST OF EVERYTHING TO YOU ALL!

Joan, I have been out of it again...tech problems that have taken DAYS to clear up.  Obviously I don't yet know what everyone has been talking about, but I was wondering if you also enjoy Eric Idle's "Galaxy Song."  The one that starts with the line, "Life got ya down, Mrs. Brown." (or something like that)

It helps me a lot.

What music do you like Joan? My collection is rather large.
