Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

My boredom is one of the many fibromyalgia symptoms. I've lost interest in so many things I used to like, so am continually on the search for something different. Unfortunately whatever I find, doesn't stay interesting for long so it's a never-ending cycle. Being somewhat disabled doesn't help matters either, so I have to really look for things that don't involve too much walking, etc. Arthritis has screwed my knitting ability, & that's something I used to do all the time as well as sewing. I used to make almost everything we wore. Now I still make breads, make/print greeting cards on the pc, do video of my husband's train when he has something new going, reading, music, play with the cats, & try different cooking. I get out quite a lot, & now have to use the bus with my scooter down for the winter, so it's not so much now. I try to learn new things on the pc, but Windows has begun to drive me insane so I want out of it & try a Mac, so that's my current research project.

Thanks for the mellow interlude, Loren.

I save lots of the pictures here too.

I enjoy everyone's stories here.

Patricia, I've been getting bored far more easily the last few days. Maybe it's being in the house so much the last few weeks and then this snow. The news seems less compelling, and Cheezburger seems less amusing. My cats and husband, however, are great as ever.

It was so bloody cold (for Southern California) that I woke up at 5AM and couldn't go back to sleep.  So I pulled the covers up to my head and read for a couple of hours.  AND for the first time since I adopted Pumpkin, he joined me UNDER the blankies.  And purred and purred and purred.  So comfy-cozy, and he makes a good arm rest.

Well, 'tis the season and all that ... and for a long time, since I first got the album, I have loved Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass' mellow, easy-listening take on that old classic, "Let It Snow."

All I have to say from here on is: Please enjoy!

Mindy, thank you. I hate dumping all my daymares on everyone here.  I try to keep my sense of humor alive, and very much enjoy the funny pics everyone posts in here...especially all the silly cats. It helps a lot.

Cats can be SO funny, and they resent our laughter so much. The black Devil cat we had 30+ years ago used to play and play and play till he had to pant like a dog, and if anyone laughed at him, he would go into a corner, turn his back and start washing his face.  It was like, "I don't know what you alll are laughing at; it certainly wasn't anything I did!"  This usually was after he'd been batting an ice cube all over the kitchen floor.  He loved that game.

He also used to love to sit beside my dad in the recliner to watch the news, or a football game.  After Dad died, The Devil still got into the chair when it was time to turn on the TV....and waited, and waited.  I would sit beside him, but I guess I didn't smell right (Devil was blind by then.)

Pumpkin likes to snuggle up to my shoulder when I'm reading in bed...he also rubs his chin on the books I have stacked beside me.  His favorite (right now) is Losing Faith in  Faith by Dan Barker.  ;>)
