Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

I juust found an interesting article about the xian conversion of "Archie," and it happened LONNNNG after I stopped reading comics and playing with paper dolls.

Re the "Archie" comic....how did they end up in the Old West? (I stopped reading "Archie" at about age 10, I thought it was kinda candy-ass from the beginning.

BTW, Johnny Hart put xian messages in his "B.C" strip as often as he could....and got some fierce backlashes when he did.

Joan, Mindy said that cartoon wasn't a joke.  She was just pointing-out how religious the cartoonist was.  It was a surprise and a disappointment.  Correct me if I'm wrong Mindy.

Mindy, I'm very sorry to hear of the problems you are having with your old friend.

I can relate to being worried about her doing something to hurt you.  When I get into disagreements with people, even lesser disagreements than you had, I worry quite a bit.

You are right k.h., and thanks Chris!  I did try and give her another chance, but it immediately became all about her again.  I feel relief!

Joan, yes I am proud of her!  She's been having a really nice time having a boyfriend again, studying, and planning her move to her new university at the end of the summer.  She has been seeing her doctor regularly.  I am so happy for her.  I've really enjoyed spending so much time with her, even though I wish she hadn't had to go through all that "crap." lol.  Now if I could just get her to clean her room.... ;)

Have a good week everyone.  I get the results from my pathology report this morning.  I'm not worried.  I'll let you guys know.

Spud, I need an ending to that cartoon as well. A long pause, and nothing came to mind. So, I hope she can explain it.  I am so bad at jokes and don't think up things fast enough to be effective

But you did very well, Mindy! It looks like your ex-friend tried to punish you for her own problems, and then there is no other way than insisting your behaviour is correct and changing your number. It's almost pleasant to cut loose someone who wants to control your life. Enjoy the extra space!

Booklover, sometimes you have to cut them loose. I cut ties with a friend of 30+ years because she started calling at three in the morning drunk. It went on for several years after I'd told her nicely to not call me when she was drinking. And never call at 3am. She didn't stop so I broke it off.
Some friendships aren't worth the aggravation.

Good find Loren!
I had quite a doozy of a morning. The old friend I made up with and I were texting, and she just lost it! She was screaming at me in all caps about how selfish I was to have ended our friendship, etc. I very rationally explained my reason again, and she refused to hear me or acknowledge my feelings. It is Always about her only. Very narcissistic. I said she would never "get it," and everything is not about
her, and other people have troubles too. I told her friendship is a two- way street. It ended with her telling me she was in a rage, and how dare I suggest therapy ( which I didn't), and then she told me to go f--- myself. I replied that I didn't tell her to get therapy, her rage was scary, and I hoped she could find peace. That probably made her madder. Then I changed my phone #.
I am relieved she is gone for good, but she is crazy and works in an elementary school. Her youngest son is 10. She is divorced. I hope her kids are never on the receiving end of that kind of anger.
It even felt like a renewal to change my phone number! Now I can give it out only to people that I want to have it.
I feel peaceful, just a tad worried that she would try and do something to hurt me in some way. She JUST got her job back with our school district in January. The district had banned her. So that says a lot. She only got back in with a lawyer.
Anyway, tomorrow I resolve to not think of her again. I hate drama and it's very hard for me to feel right after an encounter like that.
Once again, thanks for listening! <3
