Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Yes Tom Sarback, I want more of that. Here in the low countries are companies that work like that too.

This incredibly rich Earth, with all the elements needed to maintain and sustain life, generation after generation ... UNTIL we squander it with greed and domination.

Chris Brennan: "I'd still go for a mix of both opposites."

Chris, do you see a middle way in which businesses are employee-owned and -operated? In which Wall Street gambling addicts don't get the surplus value, the employees do?

A book on the subject published in 2007 says there are more than 11,000 such businesses in the US of A. Among them is a large southeastern USA supermarket chain: Publix Stores where I shopped when I lived in Florida.

Tom Sarbeck, as far as I am concerned Hillary is not one for whom I would vote. I definitely would vote for Elizabeth Warren and Jill Stein. I have a Google Alert on both these women.

Green Talks conference in Oslo

On Tuesday  April 16, 2013, "prominent Green politicians from USA, Germany and Sweden filled Oslo as Miljøpartiet De Grønne arranged the Green Talks conference."

In her speech, "Stein directed everyone’s attention to the Norwegian state oil company Statoil’s investments in Canadian tar sands. 'When you invest in tar sands, we all pay the price.' Internationally, Norway is associated with thriving oil and gas fields. But, it is rich in renewable energy sources too. According to Stein, Norway is an unlikely candidate to become a leading star in the fight against climate change."

Brandi Amari Williams, I agree, don't teach kids what to think, teach them how to think.

I received a notice from some source I did not open that stated I had some derogatory statements made about me, politically, and I had to laugh. I am a little old lady who has learned a lot in my years and I like to share my ideas with others. If that makes me "an enemy of the people", then maybe the people need an enemy.

When I was in Berlin, just before the wall came down, I saw such profound contrast between two parts of the city, I knew they drank the same water, ate from the same soils, breathed the same air, and yet by just crossing through the gate, I knew politics underlaid the differences. One of the more deeply-felt learnings of my quest.

@ Joan, I know you're not a communist, but you don't want to be a capitalist either. From the day the Iron Curtain fell, the capitalists thought they had a free hand to do whatever they thought of, and it worked out badly. The Curtain had kept them in check. Not that I envied the people who lived behind it - or the people who suffer capitalist rule. I'd still go for a mix of both opposites.

I see you, Ian! *waving*

Re The Family: Rachel Maddow did stories on them during the recent presidential campaign, in part for LGBT reasons. Their connected with the American fundies who are working in Kenya to get homosexuals executed. It's an ugly organization for several reasons, including those you identified.

Dems who voted for Bush 43's war in Iraq lost my support. I want Elizabeth Warren to run for president. But then, a Dem administration lied us into a war in Viet Nam and a Repub administration lied us into a war in Iraq. Is Jill Stein doing anything now to build the Greens into a competitive party, or was her run last year a personal thing?

Hillary and her prayer partners? With so many xian voters, candidates have to pander. Pay more attention to their votes on church and state issues. I do that and I contribute to several ch&st separation organizations. I've read most of the US Suprme Court rulings on ch&st; Scalia would happily impose his Catholicism on America.
