Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Some speeches by atheists are factual and practical, dealing with the nuts and bolts of reality.  Some are diatribes against the superstitions we seek to overcome, pointing out the man behind the curtain and the fallacies and snake oil he tries to…Continue

Bedtime Bible Stories (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller Apr 8. 0 Replies

Uh, oh!  America's Best Christian, Betty Bowers, is at it again, THIS time with bedtime stories!  Somehow with her retelling of some of the classics, I'm dubious that her versions would go over with the Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson,…Continue

My cancer team fleshes out nicely, a young woman surgeon from Iran, a young woman oncologist from India, and next week I meet the rest of my team. These women teach better than any one I know. They told me what happened, what will happen and we forecast fast, total and quick recovery.

A new adventure awaits.

You are welcome Spud!  I see you did put your bird pic on Stephs Birding Group already.  I love the picture.  So I'm going to save it! :)

Melinda, yes I put it on Steph's Birding page.  I'm there now, catching-up on who knows how many pages.  Somehow my "follow" got turned-off and I just realized that there hadn't been any bird post for a couple of months, and knew that couldn't be right.

Booklover, thanks for the amusing and cute picture of all the cats looking out the windows.  I've saved it.

I just woke up to a ton of great pictures on here!  So cute and funny, what a good way to start the day!  I did however bend down while holding my coffee and my hair dipped into it! ha ha.  So I'm going to have coffee-smelling hair.  I'll just claim it's coffee shampoo.

Spud, that picture of the bird staring at that food cracks me up!  Did you put that on Steph's Birding page?

I am SO happy, I am going to get my daughter at school this weekend, and have her for 2 whole days!  I'm sure she gets tired of me hugging and kissing her every time she walks by me, but too bad!  I'm the Mom! lol

Have a great Friday (not a Good Friday~ ha) my friends!~ Melinda

One day down for repairs and there are 7 pages to catch up on.

Glad to hear that Sentient Biped has come through the operation.

Good to hear that you're in positive spirits Joan.

Hope you're one of the lucky 30% Melinda.

I'm working all of the holidays but I don't mind. I get paid days off in lieu when I want to take them, so that's all right. Hope you're all enjoying whatever you're up to.

The caption is too large, but so what? The last word is "afikomen."  Look it up.

I appreciate your encouragement, Chris. I am so lucky to have caught it so early. I have yearly mammograms.

You suggestion for Dallas sounds good. I agree with soaking pots and glad you called it to his attention.
