Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

10 years ago the USA had Steve Jobs, Bob Hope and Johnny Cash...
Now they have no Jobs, no Hope and no Cash.

Yes Joan, the Dr. J. Thompson ones are 2 of which I've purchased so far & 2 more are on the way. I also have 4 or 5 others as well as some free downloads. I have years of sleep deprivation to recover from so it's going to take awhile to feel better, but I am getting some sleep nearly every night now. It's not yet good quality sleep, but sleep it is, which is great.

My biggest issue is the fact that I was born a night person & was always a night person, so normal sleep time for me was from about 4 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. This is when I felt rested.

The cancer meds & fibromyalgia messed things badly because I can't even nap, day, night, or otherwise, & bed sleeping has been reduced to 2-3 hours which has gone on now for about 10 years. The odd sleeping med I may take will only give me maybe another hour, & to me it's not worth the hangover, & some I can't take at all without bad side effects. Not fun.

With the delta, theta cds, I am getting about 6 hours which is broken 2 or 3 times, but at least seem able to get back to sleep. My energy level is slightly better, & the intense late afternoon zombie fatigue has improved some too, so anything is better than nothing. I'm still clumsy & awkward, but hopefully that will get better too.

Lost My

Yesterday my daughter e-mailed me
again asking why I didn't do something useful with my time, like sitting around
the pool and drinking wine is not a good thing. Talking about my "doing
something useful" seems to be her favorite topic of conversation. She was "only
thinking of me" and suggested I go down to the senior center and hang out with
the guys.

I did this and when I got home last night I decided to teach
her a lesson about staying out of my business. I e-mailed her and told her that
I had joined a Parachute Club.

She replied, "Are you nuts? You
are about 76 years old, and now you're going to start jumping out of

I told her that I even got a membership card and e-mailed a
copy to her. She immediately telephoned me, "Good grief, where are your glasses!
This is a membership to a Prostitute Club, not a Parachute

"Oh man, I'm in trouble again; I really don't know what
to do, I signed up for five jumps a week."

The line went quiet
and her friend picked up the phone and said that she had fainted. Life as a
senior citizen is not getting any easier but sometimes it can be fun.

Patricia, delta & theta brain wave cd music for sleep works for me and hopefully for you. There are many pieces from which to choose on the internet. For example:

Loved the humpback video.
