Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

k.h. kyput a portion that you will use in a custard cup or glass, put the glass in warm/hot water and test by putting a small drop on your wrist. The temperature should be warm, not hot, on your skin. It is best not to heat the whole bottle of liquid.

The one and only time I was in Amsterdam was in 1967. But I remember well the Frank's house, the Rijksmuseum (esp. The Nightwatch), the brewery (where I got drunk on the free beer), the dirty canals, and much more. I'd love to return, but not bicycling Europe like I did back then.

Chris, we were in Amsterdam for several days while the Gay Games were being held there.  We knew people from Chicago who were competing in bowling.  We stayed in a guest house in Zaandam with an elderly couple who were so wonderful.  They were like cool, hip grandparents.  Everyone there was so excited that Amsterdam was hosting the Gay Games in Holland.  Such a different atmosphere than the U.S.

Yes, I got to see the Rijksmuseum as well as the Anne Frank House, which was extremely moving and reflective.  Everything was there as it is in her diary.  The big tree in the back yard, the church down the street whose bells she could hear ringing.  It felt rather surreal to walk down the main street around the corner after seeing old photos of Nazi soldiers parading down the same street in front of the same buildings currently standing.  Holland is a really wonderful country.

Ian, I envy your concert and theater schedule.  I can't tell you how many times I've played Ralph Vaughn Williams music.  His music is standard repertoire for Concert and Symphonic bands.  I've played his music through high school, college and currently.  I wasn't familiar with his Pastoral Symphony so I looked it up on YouTube.  It has a vocal chorus, which is why I've never played it.  I've always been involved with instrumental-only groups.  Enjoy!

Put the bottle in a sturdy plastic bag, then sit it in hot water.

Does anyone know how l can warm a bottle of ear wash before I use it on my dog? It's a rather large bottle and I'm afraid I'll over heat it in the microwave. I don't want to sit it in warm water because it will ruin the label.
Sweet E keeps getting an infection in the left ear. I've had her to the vet three times. I don't want to keep treating her with antibiotics.
I'm at my wits end.

Carl, love your photos and the scenes of the cat with a windmill as background, and you and your partner on the Eiffel Tower.

Ian, happy journey! Sounds like a great itinerary.

Mindy, Carl said it beautifully. I send my best wishes as well.

Good pics, Carl, and wallpaper, Patricia.

I've had 2 cats, both run over very young. Decided not to get another.

Am off to England on Friday and have tickets to 1) The Globe, Anthony and Cleopatra plus 2) A Prom concert with The Scottish S.O. playing, among other things Vaughn Williams Pastoral symphony. Looking forward to both :-)
