Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

I'm not a news hound by any stretch, but I do like to stay informed about what's going on in the world. (I despise "local" news with all the reports of murders, robberies, fires, etc.)The national "evening" news shows really irritate me. I hate…Continue

Joan, I'll bet you are goosebumpy waiting for your great grandbaby!  How exciting!

Went to Madison today to see my Gastroenterologist.  Have to have an upper endoscopy on Aug. 20, then go see him for follow-up appt. Sept. 9.  I hate waiting!  I want things done NOW, and the results NOW too! lol.

I read about the storm in Washington, Joan. It seems that the burned out area from the Carlton fire is now extra vulnerable to landslides in such storms. Danger Of Flash Floods And Landslides Grow As Washington Wildfire S...

I hope you're far from the hazards.

Speaking of hazards, a note on texting while driving.

Keep us up to date on the baby.

Funny Weird Al video, ske8eycat, thanks.

Had a terrible wind storm yesterday. Some trees really swayed low to the ground, others continued to stand. A local small community near hear lost 40+ house trailers and injuries. There were several fires, but no calls to this Fire District 8.

Laura reported many people coming into the ER last evening and night.

Doctors started inducing Laurie's baby last night because the baby is 9 pounds and healthy, Laurie's blood pressure is growing into risk levels and so they chose induction. Today was the expected birth day.

at 10:3 AM Laurie is having strong contractions, gave up the plan for a natural childbirth, requested pain relief. Laura and Zac spent the night with her.

I am so goosebumpy!

She is! And we could! But she can't adopt another cat for she is now also allergic to longhairs. BuT I guess she'll think of another project.

Ursula sounds like such a good-hearted person!  We could use more humans like her.  Is she thinking about adopting another cat?

Comment by Plinius on July 23, 2014 at 3:14pm

Ai - my friend just phoned me that she had her last surviving cat put to sleep, so she has to get used to the life without cats. She always adopted the ugliest longhairs from the local shelter - she was allergic to shorthairs. They were really ugly, her longhairs with their crumpled faces, nose problems, eye problems and whatever a cat can get, but they became happy and healthy with Ursula. But you can also become allegic to longhairs...
