Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Seth Andrews' Rebuttal to "10 Women Christian Men Shouldn't Marry" (The Thinking Atheist)

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Grinning Cat Jan 22. 13 Replies

It seems as though some numb-nuts New York pastor by the name of Stephen Kim has written two marriage advice pieces for christian men and women.  Not surprisingly, his suggestions come straight out of his never-fail magic book.  Seth Andrews of The…Continue

Seth Andrews - The Copycats: How Christianity Steals The Best Ideas

Started by Loren Miller. Last reply by Loren Miller Dec 24, 2014. 11 Replies

Many of us have observed or learned how christianity shamelessly borrows from other sources to bolster its position and show off its supposed wonderfulness.  Well, Seth Andrews of The Thinking Atheist podcast has compiled some of the more modern-day…Continue

Beautiful picture of you and Plinius, Chris!!!! Thank you for sharing that. <3
Well the vet called with the blood-test results, and it's a little better news I guess? She thought Molly wasn't feeling well because of the growth on her jaw, but it turns out Molly also has Chronic Pancreatitis! That sounds bad, but completely switching her diet to low-fat should greatly improve her quality of life, at least for a while. The vet is hoping Molly will be able to have a good summer with us. That would be wonderful to have a couple of extra months. If she shows pain though, I won't hesitate to call the vet.

What a beautiful rose, Joan! Thinking of you all, people, dogs and cats.

Mindy, I can't stop myself from posting a picture of my friend Plinius, who died of jaw cancer. We brought him to the vet on the first day that he showed pain, and kept thinking if that was not late..

Mindy, very sad news about Molly. I am so sorry.

Patricia, I love the name, Purr-Dee! Sorry to learn of her decline.

On the other end of the life-cycle, Randall, your Molly grows into adulthood chasing butterflies. The circle of birth, development, decline and death occurs throughout time bringing joy and sorrow. My thoughts are with each of you today.

Mindy, reading about your Molly makes me want to love my Molly more. She's a one year old mastiff (mostly). Loves to chase butterflies. Sure am sorry about your dog and your sadness.

Thanks Chris. :)  She's been spoiled rotten since the day she was born, so we know she's had the best life a dog could have.  We're doing our best to make every day count now, but I know one day very soon it won't be in her best interest to keep her here.  I don't want her to suffer.  She does have some pretty good times during the day.  It's a fine line to walk.  I don't want to be selfish or see her suffer. :*(

Poor Molly! I hope you can give her some good times while saying good-bye.

Yes, we knew she wasn't herself, but had no clue she had cancer until today.
I'm sorry about your Purr-Dee.
