Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Very pleased that things are going well for your daughter, Mindy.

Living in Denmark FB is a useful for keeping up with the small talk of the family in England, including baby pics when my nieces and nephews produce their offspring. That's one of the nice sides. There's also a very few people I take seriously and can exchange views with. Like life, there's good and bad. You can choose. Plus I use Adblock to stop a lot of junk.

Have a nice Sunday. The sun is out here but I have to go to bed as I'm working this weekend. Can't win 'em all.

sk8eycat, you put it perfectly

I feel safe here, because they have managed to block trolls.

This is the only troll free site I know about, besides my Irritable Bowel Syndrome group.

Happy Weekend and good weather, all.

Facebook is so filled with religious nuts , in this area, l can't stand it. I deleted mine years ago. Started another, just to keep up with my family, and would delete it but I can't remember the password.

Felaine, I'm much like you.  I keep in touch with the people who are real friends and have let others just fade away to a memory.  I do admit, there are a few friends from college that were very close and meaningful to me that I let slip away and I wish hadn't, but I was dealing with my own personal issues at the time.  Sadly, It just happened and I allowed it.  Now it just seems like ancient history from lifetimes ago.

Mindy, great to hear the news about your daughter!

Thanks Steph and Felaine:). I have never gone to a class reunion either. I loved high school, but I don't like to go back to the past, never have. Even if it was good. When it's over, it's over. For me anyway! So yes Steph, I DID delete Facebook and Im relieved. Glad you're getting out to go biking Steph! I know you love that! It's in the 50's here. Supposed to rain big time tomorrow.
So the boyfriend came in to pick my daughter up, and we hadn't cleaned the house today, and I ran and put lipstick on(small vanity)! We'd never met him before. Very polite, personable, and handsome! :)
You guys are so great. So happy we all found each other here. Hugs, Mindy

To Mindy and Carl: one reason I have never gone to any reunions (HS class OR Holiday On Ice), EVER, is that I was always in touch with my real friends, and I just didn't give a rat's patoot about the rest!  Some I disliked intensely and never wanted to see again, anyway.

When one of my closest HS friends wanted to start a FB page years ago, I did join up, but I started hearing from the "never again" classmates (plus I got 5 times as much spam as I usually did), so I opted out ASAP, and never went back.

Some of the animal rescue non-profits I deal with have FB pages, and I understand why.  They can't afford real web sites.  I can still read those without joining.

Anyroad, my privacy is more important to me than having a lot of strangers "like" me.  I feel safe here, because they have managed to block trolls...I don't know how, but it's the first atheist "refuge" that has been successful at keeping the religious fanatics out.

And for some reason, I can't see anything right now.  Gonna go rest my eyes, and maybe have a cuppa tea.

PS: Mindy, I'm happy your daughter is doing so well!  Both socially and scholastically.

Hugs to everyone here!

Hey Mindy - sorry you had to go through all that. Did you say you were getting off Facebook? If you are I think that would be good for you. Then you don't have to see any posts from those people anymore. So congrats to your daughter on her math exam - good job. So glad you have some good news.

Just went for a bike ride and had a good time outside. Just going to watch a DVD movie and relax while eating my dinner.

I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I can't believe summer is almost here. Where is time going?

I deleted it...but it was NOT from an e-mail this time.

Thanks for clearing that up Mindy.  I didn't know that the Archie cartoonist was that religious either.

Thanks for the G+ information also.

Thanks for reposting that Spud! I don't have G+, and I get my gmail just fine. That Archie comic was just to show how religious the cartoonist must have been. I never knew that! Now I don't like Archie, lol.
