Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

I discovered a brilliant new way to avoid  having xians ring my doorbell in attempt to share the good news with me.  Just now, I was in my kitchen, washing dishes and finding something to eat, when I looked out the large window above my sink.  Two…Continue

Yes, Loren, I've noticed that, but thought it was my old computer with old software.

This was Poeka. She liked to sit on shoulders and she did so between 1992 and 2006 whenever she had the chance. No problem when she weighed a few hundred grams, but a real problem when she was over four kilos. Take care of your shoulder, Loren; mine has never been the same when Poeka was finished with it.

BTW, has anyone else noticed that clicking on "replied" or "commented" links no longer takes you directly to the comment or reply?  Seems like older links work while the newer ones don't.  I've fired off a note to Richard about it, but wanted to make sure I'm not hallucinating.

Joan, when I pull up the home site for Cosmos on TV, the menu I get looks in part like this:

The second menu item below the banner - Full Episodes - should get you there, though obviously, you're ALREADY there!

Spooky, welcome to Atheist Nexus and a whole group of people who love cats. We celebrate your new family and can only imagine the fun all of you have together. Hope the older cats take you in and offer gentle kindness. Your human family members will keep an eye on you so that you don't get overwhelmed.

Loren, on my computer, the CosmosonTV   link gets me to the trailers of all the episodes, the Blog and background. There is no place that I can find to get the whole episode.

This link

http://www.cosmosontv.com/watch/183733315515

gets me episode one through six. I don't know if this will get the future ones or not.

I just watched episode six and it is dynamite! Anyone, even very young, can get an image of what happens in very complex systems. I like the way they divided up the story. In this one, I wondered why the lilacs played such a big part at the beginning. At the end, the episode fleshed out smaller and smaller through the fragrance of lilac and the role atoms, molecules to the tiniest particles. WOW!

Link these kinds of ideas with the notion that before the Big Bang, there was no time and space. Now that was hard for me to get my mind around.  It makes sense now.
