Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Spud, the way I see it, people don't come to atheism through some kind of epiphany.  It's via an intellectually honest and well-reasoned process.  Either that Mormon kid wasn't an atheist like he said he was, or he is an atheist but is being pressured by family to conform.

The third option is that he is an atheist but is having second thoughts about getting married and moving to Arizona with this girl.  Claiming now that he's religious may be his cowardly way of slithering out of the situation.

Wow Mindy.  First atheist to go back to religion that I know of.

It could never happen to me.  Mormonism has hundreds of things, any one of which proves it false.  Lots of people obviously have a different kind of brain than I have.

That's a good way to work Chris!  It will eventually get done.  What a huge project for you!

Yes, it's good my daughter's friend's boyfriend had his "epiphany" before she moved away with him and their lives got tangled together.  Her mother, who is from the Philippines, has two grown children, with two different men.  She never married.  She has supported, and does still support, a LARGE extended family, as a nurse and business owner.  She told her daughter you don't NEED a man to have a successful, happy life.  Maybe she'll find someone, maybe not, but it's not a requirement. She'll meet someone eventually that appreciates her. :)

Gotta go, hubby made cinnamon rolls... Yum!

What a boyfriend - to to turn religious and flee! Good riddance!

We're still working in brother-in-law's house, sorting the usable things from rubbish and packing. It takes a long time, but we have our limitations and cannot work more than three or four hours in one day - and of course we have some other things to do on weekdays. b-i-l is still in revalidation but will move to a care home sometime in summer.

Wow, that's terrible about your daughters friend, but you are so right.  Better to find out now than later.  She's still young.  There's lots more bacteria in the pond.

You're right Patricia!  In the daytime my bed is Dale and Dora's, but at night, it's only Lula's. lol

Ha Carl.

Yes she is Steph!  She just went to visit her best friend from college whose boyfriend of over 5 years just broke up with her.  They had plans to move to Arizona and get married.  He's been an Atheist as long as she's known him.  He just decided he's a Mormon again like his family.  He had an "epiphany," and decided to move to California with his brother.  Better she finds out now I guess!

Thanks for the link Flying Atheist - love cats.

Your daughter sounds very unique Booklover - very independent thinking.

How is everyone?

Yes, kitties & their routines.....I swear they wear ''wrist'' watches when it's treat/feeding time! Then of course there is play time & many nap times, but they each have their places & change places depending on the time as well. The war still goes on about who gets my husband's chair, & when.

Yes, cats are grand, aren't they.
