Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Some speeches by atheists are factual and practical, dealing with the nuts and bolts of reality.  Some are diatribes against the superstitions we seek to overcome, pointing out the man behind the curtain and the fallacies and snake oil he tries to…Continue

Bedtime Bible Stories (Betty Bowers)

Uh, oh!  America's Best Christian, Betty Bowers, is at it again, THIS time with bedtime stories!  Somehow with her retelling of some of the classics, I'm dubious that her versions would go over with the Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson,…Continue

Chris, you are way ahead of my area. The magnolia looks like it might have some juice running, but very small buds, still. Butterflies!? Oh my goodness. That is like seeing a rainbow with a pot of gold you can reach.

Grinning Cat, is that what I did? Thanks for reposting.

Chris, I can't believe you've seen a butterflies already.  Now THAT'S a sign of spring.  I still have a mound of shoveled snow in front of my house that's as high as my nipples.  (And I'm 5' 10")  Like Mindy just said, we're expecting more warmer temperatures that will start the big melt, and even thunderstorms tonight with freezing rain.  A complete mess!  I'm looking forward to seeing butterflies as well.

Napoleon, I agree.  All art should be emotional in some aspect.

Thanks Ian, I hope it is!

Felaine, I'm sorry you are in pain!  Having a cat to hug helps I know.  I hope you get better soon!

Chris, that's great!  We have LOTS of snow here still!  It's supposed to be 40 degrees (farenheit)sp?  here tomorrow and rain, but then freeze.  So driving will be bad.  Yuck!  I can't wait for spring here!

Hard to believe: I met the first butterfly of the year on February 19th! Crocuses are in full bloom and the magnolia buds can burst any moment. One thing is sure about the weather - you never know what will happen. Have a good spring everybody!

Get well soon, Felaine. I know it hurts like a *****!

Glad to hear that your son's problem is treatable, Mindy.

That's a very pleasant melody, Loren. Thanks.
