Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Meds & memory loss....lovely!

Comment by Patricia on January 10, 2014 at 1:41pm

Yes, Idaho, there are all kinds all over the net & you don't have to spend enormous amounts for them either, although some sites want your arm & leg. One fellow has a website where you can download them at a much cheaper rate, then burn your own cds. I go strictly for the delta theta wave type for the deeper sleep & most times go with ebay or amazon. I could sent you more information it you like.

—the innocent sleep,
Sleep that knits up the raveled sleave of care,
The death of each day’s life, sore labor’s bath,
Balm of hurt minds, great nature’s second course,
Chief nourisher in life’s feast
Macbeth.
Glad to hear that your sleep is improving, Patricia
I've had depression/angst related sleep problems over the years and have tried various (sensible) remedies: relaxation massage, relaxing music (a CD series called Musicure) and small doses of Mianserin, a tetracyclic antidep. med. All have helped. Also had to wear a heart monitor for 48hours because of irregular beating. The problem is now gone but the cure was, unfortunatly, a return to tobacco. Feel a bit "damned if I do, damned if I don't" with that.
Have a great weekend, lovely people.

Mindy, I guess you forgot about that 50 bucks you owe me.

Glad you can get more sleep now Patricia.  I'm going to look into those CDs as I only get 5 hrs a night.

For Ruth!!!!

Patricia, I vaguely remember that, but I don't remember what I had for lunch yesterday! lol.  2 of the meds I'm on have a side-effect of memory loss, and I don't know if that's why I forget a lot, or if it's just  me.  My daughter is on a med that causes it too, and she's hoping that's why she can't get through a college-level math course! lol.  I think it's just our family has no "math gene" though!!!

The sleep cd's were discussed quite a lot a couple of months ago & I even mentioned about the ones for depression that were on ebay.

Carl, thanks for sharing. :) I also have/had anxiety and panic attacks and I'm on drugs for them. I don't know if my current symptoms are due to those, so Im happy to wear the monitor even if it's a pain! I'm glad your blood pressure meds have helped you! I've always had low blood pressure, but this Dr.'s visit, the bottom number was a little high. I really need to start exercising, but didn't want to start w/ out checking these symptoms out first!
Interesting about the cd's Patricia and Joan. I hadn't heard of them before.
