Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Some speeches by atheists are factual and practical, dealing with the nuts and bolts of reality.  Some are diatribes against the superstitions we seek to overcome, pointing out the man behind the curtain and the fallacies and snake oil he tries to…Continue

Bedtime Bible Stories (Betty Bowers)

Started by Loren Miller Apr 8. 0 Replies

Uh, oh!  America's Best Christian, Betty Bowers, is at it again, THIS time with bedtime stories!  Somehow with her retelling of some of the classics, I'm dubious that her versions would go over with the Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson,…Continue

Joan, your words in here weren't censored at all.  Probably because A/N is not a branch of Yahoo.  The morass of censoring seems to be attached to the Comments sections of stories and articles published by Yahoo News only.  There are many people with vocabularies, or minds, so limited that they can't say anything without using words most people consider impolite, crude, or offensive.  And using those words on the internet probably make the knuckle-draggers (horses asses?) feel important.

BUT censorship offends ME.  (And I think I just insulted the equine race...in truth they have beautiful behinds!)

Patricia. Thanks for "translating".

Was there any censoring of my sentence?

Sorry, again, your response, Mindy, of 1 hour ago, the most recent one, didn't come through. I shall call Chrome with these two bits of evidence and see if they have a remedy.

Thanks for "translating" Patricia.  That dog holding the cat picture is Great!!!

Carl, Love the cat pictures!

I have been having a rapid pulse, so the doctor wants me to wear a 24-hour heart monitor at home.  Ugh.  Just another fun thing to do in life, lol.

Carl, you give me more evidence I don't want a cat. I'll play with the summer feline critters visiting in my garden next summer.

The photos do make me laugh, as long as I don't have to clean them up.

sk8eycat, I wonder if flooding the internet with words with ass in them will knock out the robo-censors?  You started with class and pass and I can't think of any others. Surely there are others! bass, hassle, karass, lass, mass, pass, tassel.

Well. this wasn't very clever, I just went from A to Z with an ass connected to it.

As I play my bass fiddle in the hassle of the karass meeting, a lass in mass distress, wearing a tassel knocked me on my ass.

Well, that is the best I can come up with.

Mindy, I received this message from you and don't know what your sister sent you. It wasn't on the incoming mail either.
"My Sister sent this to me because it reminds her of something I'd say (silently.)  I thought it was funny!!!  There are lots of people out there I'd love to say this out loud to! ;)"

A 5 part series on HGTV started on Sunday night about building log homes. It's call Timber Kings, & the log homes are built right here in my city, & shipped world-wide..
