Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Some speeches by atheists are factual and practical, dealing with the nuts and bolts of reality.  Some are diatribes against the superstitions we seek to overcome, pointing out the man behind the curtain and the fallacies and snake oil he tries to…Continue

Bedtime Bible Stories (Betty Bowers)

Uh, oh!  America's Best Christian, Betty Bowers, is at it again, THIS time with bedtime stories!  Somehow with her retelling of some of the classics, I'm dubious that her versions would go over with the Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson,…Continue

sk8eycat, I'm sorry to learn of the loss of your aunt and you didn't have time to see her. Is this a photo of her? or a way to share a memory of her and express your loss? The sentiment reflects sweet mutual love.
How are you?

I must apologize for neglecting you all, but "stuff" has been happening.  (And my cousins did not let me know till it was too late to grab a train to Arizona..a short trip.  Damn!)

I'll miss you, my dear Aunt You loved me for myself.

Tony, this is great acapella music. I listened to some of their other pieces and they have the ability to create very different and interesting pieces. Versatile!  Thanks.

For those who like acapella music, Pentatonix.

Loren and Patricia, LOVE LOVE LOVE the posts!

Steph, cute cat pic as always!  Well, the "young love" is not there. lol.  He told her he just wanted to be friends and wasn't looking for a relationship.  Obviously not true since he pursued her, and told her he really liked her.  It was she who was hesitant.  He said he couldn't wait to be a dad.  She doesn't want kids unless she adopts a child that probably no one else would adopt.  He wants to live here, she wants to live in Chicago, etc...  I think he was really attracted to her ( she's beautiful, but I am biased!) and wanted a girlfriend who looked like her, but knew she would never be what he wanted, and she knows he wasn't for her either.  I did make her laugh though since she broke-up with him when she was 14, I said maybe he'd been plotting this all along, and just crossed it off his list with crayon! lol
