Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Thank you everyone! Black cats are my favorite. Wish I could just have them all. I wish I could do more to help the animals. I donate money and everything and I hope this summer to volunteer some time at the animal shelter. I need see how tough and time consuming that class is going to be. I need more time in the day. Love the lolcat Melinda! I am enjoying all the posts here.

Melinda, that graphic post about "no worth without god" is CLASSIC!  [right-mouse-click / Save As...!]  Thanks!  The box-cat is great too; our cats LOVE boxes!

Me too Chris!  Both of my black cats have been/are male, long-haired, and grumpy!  But I love them!!!! :)

How I wish I had a cardboard box! ;-) I have been owned by black cats for over twenty years, but they always brought me good luck. Even when I trip over a fat black cat when I go to the toilet in the night - then he purrs to me, so that can't be bad luck.

Ruth, I'm always glad when I see you posting! :)  I love the pile of kittens!

Steph, I've heard the superstition that it's good luck to "own" a black cat.  So hmmm, if my black cat crosses my path, do the 2 superstitions cancel each other out? lol. :)

Still chilly and rainy here.  My son has to have his car worked on, and he has to work also, so I have a lot of running around to do today.  Have a good Wednesday all! ~ Melinda

Steph, that's one of the best lolcats ever!

Neil DeGrasse Tyson on superstition:

"I'm not worried about kids. [...] They see a black cat cross their path, they say, 'Ooh, little kitty kitty!' They want to pet it, not run in the other direction. Children are not the problem here."

Thanks very much for your comment Pat. How very nice of you to say.

Well maybe next time I will be able to serve on the Jury. : )
