Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by booklover on March 19, 2013 at 7:29pm Ian, I'm so sorry for your troubles. Two people to be worried about at the same time. Life can be so hard!
Joseph, your cat sounds great! I am looking forward to seeing your pictures! I love the name Buddy for a cat! Mine are Dale, Lula, and Dora! lol! My son and I have a name picked-out for the next one~ Edna. We don't know why, we just picked it! ha ha ha
Joan, you are right! We ARE a cozy little family! You DO have a cloud of friends around you from all over who care about you and think of you and it's great that technology can be so comforting! We would not all have met before the internet era!
Hugs to all of you~ Melinda

Comment by Joan Denoo on March 19, 2013 at 7:02pm Steph, I wonder what that cat is thinking? Some dastardly thoughts, surely.

Comment by Joan Denoo on March 19, 2013 at 6:59pm Joseph Corder, what a helpless feeling! I thought cats always land on their feet. Oh dear, his poor body must have had quite a jolt. I respect the fact that you felt so much compassion for him/her.
Comment by Joan Denoo on March 19, 2013 at 6:54pm TFA, thank you for your thoughtful comment. I do feel we are a warm and cozy little family, caring for each other, keeping in touch, and sharing the scary, bad, and good things in our lives. I feel as though I have a cloud of friends around me; when I am happy and feel like exploding from the pure joy of life, I know many someones around the world care and I can share.
Have you ever seen an Auroras during a flight. I can only imagine? but it must be just splendid.
Comment by Joan Denoo on March 19, 2013 at 6:44pm Ian Mason, I am so very sorry to learn of your step-mum and mum doing poorly. My thoughts remain with you. Comfort and peace.
I would love to see pictures of Buddy Joseph.
Oh yeah Joseph - I posted that lolcat with the laptop computer asking to be fed now. : ) I'm glad you liked it.
I hope your step mom gets better. Sorry to hear the news Ian - you are in our thoughts.
