Come on in, pull up a chair!

Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.

Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.

Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.

This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.

A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.

Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Thanks Ruth, Carl, and Ian!  Carl, there was happy barking too! lol

Joan, my son, who (whom?) has type 1 diabetes, gets 4 dental cleanings a year instead of the usual 2, just for that reason!  An infection anywhere can cause problems, but in the gums, it goes straight to the heart.  Something else I didn't learn until my son was diagnosed.  Lots of things to take care of in our bodies!

Smashing pic of the young ones, Melinda. Glad you enjoyed the break.

Musical chairs Pope? Well, it's more logical than the process they claim happens.

Good morning one and all. The sun is shining here but the temp is about minus 5 C and I'm on my way to bed after a night's work.

Patricia, FUNNY! Fr. Guido Sarducci for next pope.

Ian, It's time to end that Agricultural Age tradition of Daylight Saving Time. I have not heard of the radio programs you enjoyed. I'll look on the internet for them. Can always use new and interesting old things.

TFA,I listed Ian and your recommendations and look forward to some happy time.
I agree with Ruth and Lillie, regular check ups and an electric toothbrush may add years to your life. Gum disease can get you in your heart as well as mouth. It is amazing how painless cleaning is these days with their new technologies. I have fallen asleep during cleaning. Oh well, that keeps the hygienist awake and we laugh about my snoring when I wake up.

I had actually seen the sheep herding on tv quite some time ago, so getting the video to post was a bonus. I think it was on one of the geographic programs, but can't really remember. Enjoyed it anyway.

Yes, we like living here, & wouldn't trade it for anything different. We live among the critters, & get along just fine. We try not to interfere, keep our distance, & just grab a camera if possible.

Patricia, the sheep video was so stunning, I initially thought it had to be fake.  But as I understand the process and the making, it truly is stunning and a great piece of performance art.  Very cool.

Melinda, so nice to have you back.  I'm sure your pets were glad to see you return.  I can just hear all the happy meowing.  lol  Beautiful picture of your kids.

Patricia, Extreme Sheep herding is fantastic!!!! Who would have imagined  precision sheep herding as a visual art form! My husband and GrinningCat watched it twice on their laptops. Next on the 71 inch TV. Then we found a video that gave more background, kinda like the making of. It said the video took seven herders, 300 sheep and two days of recording. What novel performance art.

I envy your backyard wildlife.

That looks like a great place to relax, booklover. Thanks for the picture of your kids.

Awwww thanks Steph! I missed you guys! Our vacation was SO relaxing, but glad to be home with our pets! That picture is of my kids on our first day there. That's the Atlantic Ocean behind them. So weird that Shauna could order drinks with us. She turned 21 a few days before we left. All grown up! Can't wait to join in again on the forum. I feel like I've been gone so long and it's only been 6 days!
