Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by Patricia on March 6, 2013 at 1:27pm Update....
After receiving the birthday card in January with the apology from 'mother of the year', I sent a thank you note which was returned yesterday as undeliverable.
As there was no alternative, I therefore had to ask my daughter if her grandmother had moved.....answer....yes......out of California & back to Canada.....into my daughter's city.......a year ago! This from a girl who doesn't want to keep secrets!!!
I never wanted her caught between the issues I have with 'mother' in the first place, & it never seems to stop no matter how long it's been!
It was my daughter to tell me when good ol' dad had died, not mummy doing the calling, & it's not as if she was that broken up considering they didn't love each other anyway.
I guess they can now try to out-xian each other as 'mother' left a book of moron at my daughter's place several years ago, which she threw out, considering my son-in-law has the 'right' religion & morons are an evil cult....which the internet told him, so not first-hand knowledge. Oh well.........

Comment by Patricia on March 6, 2013 at 1:13pm A 24-YEAR-OLD swimwear model called Cassius has emerged as favourite for the Papacy.

He’s divine
Senior clerics hope to assert the scandal-hit Catholic Church’s heterosexuality by choosing a manly young leader with dark looks and strong muscles.
Rather than limit itself to a pool of grizzled cardinals, the Vatican is recruiting via networking websites like Man2Man.
Using the login Ecu-MEN-ical, it posted: “Are U a religious guy lookin 4 a fun role? Defined body type and basic Bible knowledge required.”
Model and aspiring actor Cassius replied: “Soundz cool. Tell me more plz.”
The toned young man, whose main interests are working out and fun, has since impressed cardinals with his physique and laid-back attitude.
A Vatican spokesman said: “Cassius has great charisma and is used to being on podiums, although mainly in the context of dancing to hard house with his shirt off.
“Often he parties all weekend, which is great training because a Pope needs stamina. He prefers men-only venues so he isn’t tempted by females.
“He’s also introduced us to poppers which are like a fun type of incense.”
The last good-looking Pope was St Sixtus II, who is described in an ancient deuterocanonical text as ‘pretty ripped with great arm definition’.
Comment by booklover on March 6, 2013 at 12:54pm Thanks Ian! I'm sure Shauna will have a great day! She is on her way to the DMV to get her new driver's license that proves she's 21. I don't know about other state's in the U.S., but here in Illinois, their picture is turned the other way on their license, how do I explain this? It's a rectangle of course, and from 16 to 21 your pic is on the short side of the rectangle, so your info is all sideways? Then when you turn 21, everything is the regular long way on it. I probable made NO sense at all. LOL. Anyway, it saves bartenders, people who sell alcohol, police, etc. the trouble of looking for your birthday. They can tell you are under-age by the way your license is.
Comment by Ian Mason on March 6, 2013 at 12:33pm Shiny, happy people! I hope you have a great day, Melinda.
Comment by booklover on March 6, 2013 at 11:25am Spud, I am very lucky in that both my daughter (21) AND son (18) are Atheists! I think my husband is more agnostic, but he grew up catholic, and I was raised to think for myself. I've converted him though! :)
Comment by Idaho Spud on March 6, 2013 at 10:50am I'm jealous Melinda. To have an atheist daughter (or son) would be wonderful.
Comment by booklover on March 6, 2013 at 10:37am Thanks Carl! And what's even better is that we are both Atheists! :)
Comment by The Flying Atheist on March 6, 2013 at 10:29am I have to agree with the others, Melinda. You and your daughter look like sisters. Great photo. Two beautiful people with such nice smiles.
