Picture yourself spending some time with congenial friends, sharing your lives and pictures from your cell phones." They're curious about that cool game, song, movie, camping trip, art show, or other event that fascinated you. You talk about all kinds of stuff, poetry, styles, personal achievements, relationships, and bad days. You can share your inner child, and laugh together. They sympathetically listen to your feelings about serious topics like politics or climate change, even when they don't agree.
Personal validation comes from paying attention to one another, giving more than you get. Everyone respects you and themselves, despite our amazing range of personal tastes and interests. They'll tell you they don't agree with an idea or behavior without implying you're a bad person or somehow deficient. It's an "I'm OK, You're OK" kind of fellowship, where nobody tries to make himself look better by picking on somebody else.
Nobody here is into mind games. A discussion started with a loaded guilt-throwing question will be deleted.
This group is not intended to compete with other groups on topics they cover but to "fill in the cracks." Whenever a discussion dwells at length on a topic for which there's an existing group, we urge you to provide members a link to that group to continue along their tangent.
A comment is a shout-out, which will get lost in a few days, because the comment wall is just a random stack.
Please start a discussion to share stories, photos, and videos. Replies will pop up in your "latest activity" and a conversation can develop from the feelings and thoughts you contributed. Groups are built on discussions.

Comment by Ian Mason on February 28, 2013 at 3:29am Grinning Cat: a runaway case of dropped bollocks in that article, in language and geography. Proof reading being outsourced to Asia now?
Melinda, that's the best laugh I've had in days. Stealing!
LOL, Thanks booklover, I'm using the ´people don't land on their feet´. In the centre where I work people ask me: "How come your classes always have such fun?" , but I didn't tell them..
Grinning Cat I stopped by and commented on the writing accuracy article. Booklover - that's a really cute Lolcat. Tony - that pig is having fun in the sun.

Comment by Ruth Anthony-Gardner on February 27, 2013 at 8:13pm I’m 5 pages behind. We lost the internet connection just as I was about to send my comment last night. Thanks for all of your pictures and comments, especially the happy piglet. I "fell into" cataddictsanona-mouse. Thanks for introducing me to it, booklover. Love that "getting the paw" video too. I enjoy having cats empowered with "no means no". It's one way we show our love.

Comment by booklover on February 27, 2013 at 4:15pm On my Comcast homepage there is an article about the pope. He said sometimes, during times of crisis (just paraphrasing), that it seemed gawd was taking a nap, or something to that effect. WOW. What a great and wonderful gawd.
Comment by Joan Denoo on February 27, 2013 at 2:30pm I have a question about "had". Kennedy said "I had a member of my family killed ... " and I hear it very often.
Robert Kennedy's Speech on MLK Assassination at 2:10 minutes
It is my pet peeve.
Steph, sk8eycat -- Ruth and a few others of us are discussing the general "decline in writing accuracy" over in Linguaphiles & Sesquipedalians.
One of the mistakes she found was in the news: "It is original from the Andean area of South Africa and widely grown in ... the south Mexico, especially Ecuador."
(That's a great glaring subtitle for "Eat, Ray, Love"! Doesn't anyone proofread magazine covers anymore?)
